Re: What is Message that my Name gives
The name Karn comes from Indian mythology. The word karNa is very old (appears in the Rgveda for example) literally means "ear" or one with prominent ears (first use in this sense in the atharvaveda). He is one of the central characters in the epic mahAbhArata: son of the mother of the winning side in the epic battle, but born before her wedding while testing powers acquired by her on the sun god. He was abandoned in a river and brought up unknowing his heritage. Happenstance made him join the loosing side in the battle. He is known for his strength of character, friendship, honesty, and above all his willingness to help ad give away his all to a deserving candidate. The last name sharmA comes from Hindu texts. The word from the root shri means a shelter or protection and is already seen in the Rgveda. It was considered a primary trait of the upper priestly brAhmana caste, and according to the religious text called manusmRti, Brahmins were supposed to use it as the last part of their name.
