Edris
I was reading about Ninette de Valois on Wikipedia, and according to the article, her actual given name was Edris. Does anyone have a clue as to the origin of the name Edris? My guess as that it was Irish (or possibly Welsh or Scottish) in origin, but de Valois was Anglo-Irish, and I don't think Anglo-Irish people gave their kids Irish names in those days.

A simple search says that it is a feminine form of EDRIC.
