Bibiel.
Hi! :)
Some time ago I was asking about the surname Bibiella and its roots on the Surnames board. And recently I've come across the name Bibiel and then even Bibiela which interested me. Or maybe they're not actual given names but some kind of nicknames or something like this? Whatever they are, from what I noticed they're used particularly by people with kinda Mediterranean or Romance sounnding surnames like Portuguese or maybe Spanish, just guessing. I'm kinda curious because Bibiel is how my sis calls me. :D
My question is, does anyone know if these are legit given names anywhere? Where do they come from? Are they diminutives of sometfjng? Are they indeed Brazilian? Just out of plain curiosity.
Thanks for any info.

You can make what I call the "Facebook test": Go to Facebook and use the search function there to list people with a given name of "Bibiel". Now that we have 1/4 of whole humanity or so on those servers that can be quite interesting. When I did so just now, I saw some people with that name in South America, both from Spanish-speaking countries and from Brasil.
