Behind the Name: Message: "what about Zelinda?"

I was wondering what the name 'Zelinda' might mean, it is a name that was borne by my great-great grandmother Zelinda Scarabolotti who immigrated to Australia from Italy (Northern). My youngest sister Brigid (an unusual combination but my maternal grandfather is Irish) has inherited this name(some family tradition?)but we have been unable to find a meaning anywhere. Does anybody have any ideas?
