I found the name Obéline among a listing of 17th century French feminine names (also among these were the names Cornille, Péronne, and Plantée). Does anyone know from whence it was derived? I'm guessing it is either a variation of the name Abilene, or possibly a feminization of the name Abel. Just curious.
