Re: Fact of my name
From Sanskrit shrI (The root shri means to burn with a flame or diffuse light, and this word means beauty/lustre. It is an epithet of a number of goddesses like lakshmi and sarasvati) with nivaasa (The prefix ni, cognate with part of beneath, means down, within, etc and the root vas, cognate with the English was, meaning to dwell): Srinivisan means the abode of the goddess. Murugan is from a Dravidian root meaning young or tender, and is the common name of a particular unmarried God, who is central to the South Indian pantheon, and identified with Karttikeya of the north Indian one, though akin to the north Indian child-God Krishna in many attributes.
