The origin of both names seems uncertain. Because Nisien and Efnisien are twins and the polar opposites of each other (one good, one evil) it's likely that their names reflect their personalities. If you look at the names- Nisien, Efnisien- they're basically the same with the exception of Ef-, which may be a negative prefix; so it's likely that Nisien has a "good" meaning "while Efnisien is the opposite, hence has a "bad" meaning. If so, Nisien could mean "good" or "friend" while Efynisien likely means "bad" or "enemy". I posted some links at google books if you want to read some more (although it's not much).
