I have seen the last name Aimsley, an apparent change on Ainsley, so this could be a possible derivation of Ainsley. Can you give any background to year or birth, area of birth and heritage?

Amzy was my husbands Grandfather and I'm guessing he was born year 1916 or around that time. Amzy was his first name he was born in America but, I believe he had relatives that were of German decent. I don't know much more about him than that. I was so curious to know what the background of him name was. Thanks for replies.
