In Hebrew-to-English transcription, 'ch' is often written as 'h' (eg Channah -> Hannah etc).

This is true. But the name EHUD with the Hebrew letter (c)het obvously doesn't exist.
I have also seen Hebrew words containing a (c)het or (c)haph transcripted as KH. Would this look familiar to you? Would you know right away how to pronounce a name like Malakhi or Mekhi?
