"People with the name Dieuwke are usually Christians." is a statement on this website. Why is that? It isn't a name from the bible, so I'm interested why someone wrote this. Thank you.

I can't find it. Your search engines aren't for this kind of search. I read so many pages and I just don't remember. I do remember it was from the Behind the Name website.

It’s not in the name description, name comments, or any of the message boards. There’s not really anywhere else it could be. I think you must be mis-remembering.

For the record, most Dutch people don't identify as religious. Those who do, are mostly Christian. But, the Dieuw element has nothing to do with words like deity or Deus, so I think whoever made that statement must have been the victim of a false etymology!
