Hello! I noticed you refer to the SSA baby name data quite often, and give it as a reference for number of girls born in 1880 named Mary as a percentage. That early data only represents about 20% of the population born that year. I know it wasn't a representative sample, but is it roughly the same percentage as compared to census data? It looks like England's baby named Mary saw a similar decline, dropping to 10% by 1880, so i wouldn't be surprised if it was. https://demos.flourish.studio/namehistory/?names=Mary
