Where di you get that from? Kaitlin comes from Cateline, and old french form of Katherine. Katherine doesn't mean pure. The romans FALSELY thought this..

Because the Romans mistakenly thought Katharine came from "katharos", they used it with that meaning. Meanings can (truly) change even through mistakes. So I don't think it's incorrect to say Katharine means "pure".. it did to the Romans! I think it just depends on how far back in the name's history you want to go.
