Tennille or Tenille is highly likely to be related to the French surname Tenaille, which has the same meaning as the French word 'tenaille', meaning 'pair of tongs, pair of pincers'. Yes, i know it is not a nice meaning, but that sometimes happens, probably because the first bearer of the name was either someone who used pincers or tongs or was not a nice person.
