Keep looking, but please be aware it may not have any meaning or traditional origin. As a former US school employee I can tell you from experience that African-American names can be HIGHLY original. I know one boy whose legal given name was "C" (not 'C.') and one girl with the name Tequila (there was charming story about her origin). In addition, the use of a masculine African name for a girl (and vice-versa) is fairly common, as is unique spelling ("Donta" pronounced exactly like Donte). My
