Hi, guys. I've just encountered (the name, not its owner) Adlof Johan Vogel. Clearly of German descent, though many Afrikaans-speaking South Africans enjoy using German or French names to match their ancestral surnames.
So, do you think that Adlof is a typo, or could someone perhaps have tried to make Adolf less alarming by switching some letters around? Anyone ever seen anything like it?
