navikA as an adjective (feminine gender, the masculine is navaka, with the last -a in the masculine short as in the English about) meaning, and cognate with, new is very old. The shades of meaning included fresh or young, and the word could be applied to a maiden, but it is not a classical name (i.e. it does not appear in any popular mythology to my knowledge).
