Benedikt / Benedikta
Hi! could someone tell me please in which countries these names are used?
This web site states that Benedikt is masculine and it's used in German and Russia but in other web sites there are different information. Any help? thanks.

The original (Latin) spelling was Benedict with a C. Modern European languages which either have the letter K instead of C or which use C to make a different sound (ch, for instance) would naturally spell it with a K to retain the pronunciation. Same sort of thing would probably apply to languages from elsewhere in the world, provided they are christianised and use saints' names.

Slownik imion by Wanda Janowowa et. al. gives Benedikt as a form of Benedict in Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Dutch, Lusatian, German, Norwegian, Croatian, Slovakian, and Slovenian. The same book lists Benedikta in Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, German, Croatian, Slovakian, Slovenian, and Hungarian.
