A little girl my roommate babysits for has a most interesting middle name: Essabel. I know absolutely nothing about where they got it from (I don't know them, and I think the roommate would probably feel weird asking, lol!), and I was hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on its origin.
It sounded like a variation on Isabel to me, or like an eighteenth or nineteenth century invention, but I have no idea and would appreciate a more informed opinion. :)
