ArchivesOrigin of my first name
I am looking for any information regarding the origin of my first name: Krishan. My parents tell me they knew a girl from Austria with the name. I haven't been able to find any info on my name or anyone else who has this name. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sorry I couldn't find anything on the 'net to back up my suspicion that your name may be some kind of pet form of "Kristiana" (with the "tia" pronounced "sha").
I was only able to find references to "Krishan" as being an boy's name of India, meaning either "pearl" or "ray of light". Here's one Indian baby name website that lists the name:
