Re: what is the meaning of the name
I do not think they are Hindu names ...Rather Raziyaan reminds me of the Seljuk (Turkish) Sultana جلالت رضیہ الدین, Jalâlat ud-Dîn Raziyâ, who, as a compromize candidate became a ruler of the mamluk sultanate from 1236/7 to 1240/1, and is remembered as the first woman ruler of an important political entity in India. I believe the name is Arabic in origin (probably Rad.iya) and may mean something like pleased. Though she is known as Raziya Sultana in history, she was a Sultan, not the wife of one!I do not know any Arabic nor Persian, except for borrowings into Hindi/Urdu, but Shanaaz may be Shah (ruler) + naaz (pride), usually referring to his beloved queen.I have quite commonly heard both Shahnaaz and Raziya as names amongst Indian muslims.
