We need the ethnic background... The only name it reminds me of is Kalman / Kalmann, a Yiddish form of Kalonymos, itself the Greek form of Shem Tov (good name, meaning good reputation), a family descended from King David. These names were often used as first names to remind of a Davidic descent.
