In Korea it's an alcohol also called White soldier approx. 24% Vol. tast like Vodka but sweeter, serves cold.

this is hard when you don't know where it originates from, because at the moment i've found about say five possibilities, ranging from Somali to Japanese to Hindu to Korean to something else i can't figure out what it is.

It kinda sounds Hindi to me, but then again i do speak hindi, so my opinion may be biased. however, sujji (which kinda sounds like sujju) is actually a bengali/hindi word for wheat semolina !
