What does Malini mean ?
a girlfriend of mine is named Malini, but has no idea what it means. Anyone have an idea? all i know is that its from indian origin.

Yes, the word means both gardener and garland maker. It is also a name of the Goddess Durga. There it means 'garlanded (with garlands made from human skulls)', as in this picture: http://timepiece.shubhkaamna.com/gifs/durga.jpg

Malinali ('dry grass' in Aztec)Now, a website claims that Malini means "a cluster of notes" in Hindustani, but it (the site) looks quite odd.
Another says it means "gardender" in Hindi (probably gardener??). Another one thinks it's "string of pearls".I hope it helps!
