pronunciation of my name
I am constantly being argued with over the pronunciation of my name (I have always been called eh-LEE-she-ah). I am wondering how others with my name pronounce theirs.

I named my daughter Elysia - and I pronounce it eh-lee-see-ah, although most people who see it written down pronounce it eh-lee-sha. It didn't even cross my mind that it could be pronounced any other way when we named her. I wish that I hadn’t of chosen such an ambiguous name as I feel for my daughter. Has it caused you any distress/annoyance?Although I do love the name and what it means - blissful sweetness.RegardsK

Devonelisa answered this question along with several others of mine some time ago; she gave Elysia's Greek pronunciation, as it's originally a Greek name: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=35806&board=gen.Miranda
