Jarrett graduated college a year ago and went off to a local university while Charlize finished off high school. A couple months into the school year, Charlize was hit hard with what she thought was just the flu. Her mother knew otherwise (or at least suspected) and so she took her daughter in to the doctor where her suspicions were confirmed. Charlize was pregnant.
Upon sharing the news with Jarrett, Charlize broke down. Fear of the future and what was to come of her and the baby flooded her every move. All Jarrett could do was sit there and hold her close.
They eventually came up with a plan. Jarrett went out and found a little place for them to live, still near enough his college that he could attend. In addition to finding a place, he went out and got a second job. He knew that it would be tough to keep two jobs, be a father, and continue to go to school but he knew that he wanted to provide for his baby.
A month after graduation (which Charlize did attend, despite her very obvious pregnancy), Jarrett and Charlize welcomed their son, Linus, into the world. Despite looking a bit wrinkled, Charlize immediately fell in love with him. A few days later, Charlize and Jarrett took Linus home and are now beginning to settle down with him.
