Re: estel's Story Congrats Round 7

Life couldn't have been going any better for the Lovejoys; three out of four children are at primary school and all growing into beautiful young people, Stefan is on target for another promotion at work and with some time on her hands, Anya has written her first epic novel; plus Stefan and Anya are more in love than ever! Maybe a little too in love...
On the school run one morning, Anya finds herself all hot and bothered and feeling awfully nauseous, Octavia's worried but Anya reassures her eldest daughter and puts it down to a bad night's sleep. Until the next day, when it happens again. But again Anya dismisses it as nothing. The following day Anya is physically sick before leaving the house and again after returning from dropping off the kids. Her sister, Ellie, suggests she takes a pregnancy test. Anya humours her expecting a negative result - so when two pink lines appear she's knocked for six!
Stefan is shocked but assures Anya they will cope (it's about time he converted the attic into a bedroom anyway) that is until, a midwife proudly announces Anya is expecting fraternal twins at their 10 week scan. Now it's panic stations!
Life for the Lovejoys descends into chaos over the next few months; Reuben's old baby gear has to be hauled out of the loft; a second set of certain items has to be purchased; the attic is cleaned, insulated, plastered and moulded into a perfect girly haven while Octavia's old room is remade for twins and Reuben finally has his cot moved out of Anya and Stefan's room and into a redecorated (and vacated) Eve's bedroom. Through all this change and upheaval, Anya is so immensely proud of Octavia who takes up the slack on her young shoulders, helping to get the younger three ready for school and nursery, and taking on some of the bathing and bedtime duties.
Before the "double bombshell", much had already changed amongst the Lovejoy children. Parker started lashing out at nursery, he would come home and start fights with Evie and push Reuben around then be found crying and pulling out his hair face-down in Octavia's beanbag collection. Anya's instinct told her something wasn't right with her little boy but doctor's weren't much interested. It wasn't until he started school a year ago that his teacher asked Anya and Stefan in for a conversation at the end of his second week. She told them that Parker displayed difficulties communicating and making friends, he struggled to control his emotions or recognise them in other people; she said she was fairly confident that Parker was on the Autistic Spectrum. Nine months later, with a lot of support from the school, Anya got a diagnoses of Asperger's Syndrome for Parker. Now, starting in Year 1, he has a 1-2-1 support assistant and is getting help identifying and regulating his emotions.
The children are each becoming their own, individual people and finding their own likes and hobbies. Octavia enjoys being outside and playing with Roy and Rex, she likes reading and quiet activities such as puzzles, board games and jewellery making. Evie is a little more outgoing, she loves make-believe games and especially playing with baby dolls, she had a keyboard and microphone set for her 6th birthday and enjoys giving "performances" (even if only to her stuffed animals). Parker is at his best when mentally stimulated, he likes to do puzzles with Octavia and take mechanical things apart to work out how they work (though he's not very good at putting them back together yet!) Reuben is very easy going, he rarely plays on his own, instead preferring to float between his siblings and get involved with whatever they're doing. When he's at nursery or home without his siblings, Reuben can usually be found with role-play items such as a shopping basket or kitchen set.Late September was Stefan and Anya's 10 year anniversary - oh how time flies! - and they were all set to abandon the children with relatives to enjoy a quiet weekend away. But guess who wants to make their appearances four weeks early?! That's right; just as Anya is packing up the kids to ship them off, pains kick in and she knows what's happening. She calls Stefan, Ellie and Iona who all rush round and arrive at practically the same time. Ellie and Iona load up the kids (as had the plan been anyway) but instead of driving off to a countryside cottage, Stefan is heading for the hospital. Sure enough, just six hours after arriving, Anya and Stefan are holding their fourth and fifth daughters!
Anya and Stefan wanted a subtle between their twins names and choose a pair with a nod to nature. Because of having double the babies to name, Anya and Stefan were confident at sticking to just one middle name each - unlike their first two daughters - and chose to honour both of their sisters. However, when Octavia and Eve were introduced to their baby sisters they begged to have their favourite names included, unable to pick one without the other, Anya and Stefan agreed on giving each twin a second middle name after their big sisters' favourite movies.H: Stefan James Lovejoy [33]
