Re: Unusual Name
I haven't encountered the name "Leodith" before, although a google.com search revealed that a few people besides you have borne the name.I would venture a guess that the name is a derivative of the Teutonic name "Leoda", meaning "woman of the people". It may even be a blending of the Old English word "leoda" (meaning "people") and the Old Norse word "lythr" (also meaning "people").-- Nanaea
