Attn:- "Daividh"
At first i said to Bagpus, i would leave this with him to resolve, but now i think there are issues that remain unresolved....
Up until a few months ago being called Bobby Darin was no big deal, in England he was a forgotten singer from the 1950's and then came that movie....
As to "Paging Mr. Darin" your words, oh, dear does it not cross your mind that everyone and his mother and already came out with this comment? how sad and predictable. You must be in your forties right? have you never learnt that all humour is at the expense of those your direct it at? Even from someone i know this is crossing the line, but from a total stranger, it is totally unacceptable to mock them and try to belittle them. Don't tell me this was not your intention, if it wasn't then you would have never written that text
As for your crack about can't we afford another computer? Until 11 months ago i was employed then made unexpectedly redundant, i'm now fighting to keep my house, in considerable debt and yes had to sell my computer to pay mortage payments, not so funny is it?
Your comments are unacceptable, as is your attitude of "Judging others" before you even bothered to ask what the situation is....
In your reply you didn't even acknowledge that you had acted in a judgemental way? This would have shown a basic level of respect to admit this and reassure the board you now understand the error of your ways and frankly won't do this again.
Everyone is entirely to a basis level of Respect we believe, to be treated equally and not to be mocked, belittled or laughed for thier name, views or beliefs on this board or any other.....

Bobby,I think you're overreacting both to my original post and to my followup. What I saw was two posting identities asking basically the same type of questions on related subjects from the same IP address, which certainly appeared that it could be an MPD situation. The purpose of my first post was simply to point out the rule regarding MPDs and the problems we'd had over several years in the past.If I'm guilty of anything, it's of not poring over the archives to see what'd gone on or been explained on this subject already during my absence, which would've made my post unnecessary. But frankly, I don't have the time or inclination to read 18 months of previous posts. That said, I've reviewed what I wrote in both posts and don't see anything particularly uncivil therein. (If someone other than Bobby or I feels differently on that score, pls. advise.)I'm not sure how you construe "Paging Mr. Darin" as making fun of your name. It's hardly different than saying "Attn: Bobby Darin." And if Mark C. had been the last to post at the time I posted my rules caveat, it would have been addressed to Mark rather than Bobby.

I understand from Bagpus's post that your first name really is Bobby, but have no idea whether Darin is your real last name or a Web ID (my real first name is Daividh, without the quotes). In any case I happen to have been a fan of Bobby Darin all thru his career (I'm closer to 60 than 40), and my wife's about worn out Kevin Spacey's "Beyond the Sea" CD in the car stereo. As to multiple users on the same computer, I'm not sure how you read "can't afford" into "scarcity of PCs." I've been made redundant without warning more than once in my own career, and know it's devastating and stressful both financially and psychologically. You certainly have my sympathy and good wishes that your situation improves. But it's certainly nothing to be ashamed of, nor would I EVER poke fun at someone for being unemployed against their will.Bobby, I hope we can both consider this matter closed as I have no intention of continuing a dialogue about something intended not as an attack but as an impersonal reminder of board rules.Daividh

Hands off the Big D., he only commands respect in this neck of the woods!!!... all he did was sniff out another multiple dysfunctional personality in the best of BtN traditions :)Welcome back old beast, so good to see you after so many years :) That brings us up to 2 caballeros, if we could only get Nanaea back we would relive past glories :) Hope all is well with you. Last time we spoke Nephele was a toddler -- she is now taking ballet lessons. How's Rural Dakota (?). Hope you so stick around old fruit :)

Pavlos,I'm glad to see you're still here! The last coupla years have been tough for me (getting older is a bitch) but better days are ahead, thanks to the wonders of modern pharmacology. And we still live in Ruralesque Kintuckie (not Dakota, thank gawd). At least until my youngest finishes university next year and finally moves out of the house.I knew Nephele must be getting on in age, but ballet lessons already? Yikes! It being Greece, does she get to break dinner plates while dancing Swan Lake?It would be great to have all three Caballeros back, but I'm not sure some of the current denizens of this board could stand the shock of Nan's posts... ;o)- Da.

Ditto, and . . .This is NOT the place for this. If you (Bobby or whoever) want to pick a fight with Daividh, please do it in the Lounge (the off-topic board), don't waste board space here. However if you do continue griping unnececssarily over what was really a very minor incident, you will get no sympathy from any of us.
