In Sanskrit, the root man means to think, and mana is, therefore, mind. The root jan is to be born. Both are of deep IndoEuropean ancestry (e.g. cognate with the roots in English mean and genesis).manoja means mind-born, an epithet of the god of love (specifically ἔρως, not φιλία, ἀγάπη, or στοργή). Manoj is a modern pronounciation of the same.
