My mother's (& daughter's) name is Kalo.
It comes from the Greek word for "beautiful".
My mother (b 1927) was always told it comes from "Kallah" because a bride is considered beautiful.
This was confirmed by our famiky Rabbi, Rabbi Solomon Maimon OBM of Seattle
I am now trying to find out the meaning to the name "Hurcee--my husband's grandmother
