I came across the name Margravine in a book recently. It's female, and I believe it's German in origin. Any ideas on its meaning?

It's a title, not a name. It's the feminine of Margrave, which is a German title of nobility.

It looks enough like a name that it could be used as one anyway, I suppose. I believe that Lady and Regina are common enough, as are Rex and Basil. This is the German equivalent to a British marchioness or a continental marquise.
