bufree
This is my great aunt's name and there are others bearing this name in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I have no knowledge of why this name was given. They lived in the Peterborough region UK. Their family name was Whitaker. Has anyone heard or seen this name????

Are you sure it's not Buffy?Because if it was Buffy it would be a nickname for Elizabeth which is suitable with the last name Whitaker which is of Scottish origin and Buffy is a very English/Scottish nickname for Elizabeth. :)But if the name is actually Bufree I have no idea. Peterborough? Maybe it's of Celtic/Gaelic origin?
