Ayoe
Hello!Does anybody know where the female name Ayoe comes from and what it means. It is used in Denmark but it's very unlikely to be a Danish name because of the spelling.I've heard that it might be a name from literature, but I haven't come across any more information.Any ideas?Thank you!Satu

Hej Satu!According to my Danish name book, Ayoe is Spanish and means "oppdrager", I don't know what that is in English (eller på svenska, men jag hoppas du vet, för jag undrar själv!).

Spanish?Hej Caprice,Thanks for answering! The Danish word 'opdrager' ('oppdrager' is the Norwegian spelling) means "educator".The Spanish translation of "oppdrager" would be "educador(a)"...And I couldn't find any Spanish site with the name (or word) Ayoe, so I'm not sure if your book's right?Does anybody here speak Spanish and knows the word ayoe? It's not in my dictionary - but it's a very small one! ;)Tack för att du sökte i alla fall, Caprice!Satu

Ayo means something like "chaperon" in Spanish, but I don't know if Ayoe is a real Spanish word.

Ayoe is not a Spanish word. Don't know what language it is but certainly not Spanish.
