German Names by Hans Bahlow says that Fehse is an alternative form of Fese. These are German surnames that go back to the Middle High German word vese, which meant "grain husk, chaff" but was also used as the name of a particular variety of wheat called "spelt" in modern times. It is possible that the original bearer of the surname grew or sold that variety of wheat.

A quick Google search showed that Fehse seems to occur as a family name in Germany, but is probably not very frequent. A given name Fehse was nowhere in sight.
