HelpHow important are alternate transcriptions of names to this site?
I submit a lot of Arabic/Persian/Urdu names, but alot of them are alternate transcriptions of other names on this site. For example, i just submitted the name Mahran, which is an an alternate transcription of Mehran (محران) but i submit so many of these i feel they are unnesscacary. Should i still submit alternate transciptions or are they not as important?

Adding alternate transcriptions is useful if they are likely to be searched by visitors. There's no need to add them exhaustively however. The "other forms" field can also be used to hold less-common transcriptions.
Should i put a (rare) next to the usage if i'm submitting a rare transcription?
Yes, definitely.
