Aine sounds like a fiercely independent dweller of a mountain valley who loves to read and make up stories. Over hills and mountains of beautiful song, Aine is a marvelous stone that is more valuable inside than out. It shines with otherworldly light and tastes almost like vanilla. Of the most beautiful names in the world, Aine is a bit more common, but that doesn't subtract from its grace and elegance in the least. Extraordinary!
Glorious! I picture an Áine riding in on a gleaming white unicorn from over the hills and far away... So beyond fancy and royal.
This is actually my middle name, but when I was younger, I wished it was my given name. My mother added her own twist though (my sisters and I all have 'weird' names), she spelled it 'Ayne'. I was glad not to be Ann/Anne, not that I have anything against the name (!) except there were several girls in my grade with the middle name 'Ann/Anne, and I liked being different. And we've always pronounced it with a hard A, like 'GAIN' without the G, if that makes sense. Loved the name until boys my age found the similarity between it and the name of a certain body part and teased me mercilessly about it. Other than that, still love it.
Simply breathtakingly beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful!
I love this name and it's not even mine! So pleasantly short and yet throws people off on the pronunciation. I know I was! I love names that only you know how to spell and write (poor kids, they most have had a hard time at school correcting the teachers 20 times a day!) But it's so soft and rolls off your tongue. For all those who bear this name be proud!
One of my best friends is named Aine, pronounded Awn-ya. I think it's a very beautiful name.
I love my name. It has so much meaning and it sounds lovely. The spelling and pronunciation thing is the only thing. I live in Australia and no-one can ever pronounce it!
My younger sister's name. She is often annoyed by how it is pronounced. Some people say it as On-ya, while my sister prefers AHN-ya. Either way I think it's a very pretty name
