Comments for the name Allie

When I hear Allie I picture a red-headed little boy due to the description of Holden Caulfield's younger brother, Allie, in The Catcher in The Rye.

I love Allie especially as a nickname for Allison. I also like it as a nickname for Aaliyah.

I do not like the spelling of this name. I like it ALLY or ALLEY.

I love the name Allie, but as a real name not a nickname. I would name my daughter Allie, not Allison, etc.

My name is Allie. It's not short for anything though, it is just Allie. I think it's a pretty good name. It can get annoying because of the many different spellings and people who think your name is Alison when it's not. Also, I've never been able to find a trinket (like a mug you buy at a gift shop) with my name on it, it's always Alison or something. Oh well. :)

My name is Alexandra, but everyone calls me Allie. I love the name, only it's becoming way too popular for my liking. Every person I have ever met assumes that Allie is short for Alison and that it's spelled Ali. It gets quite annoying sometimes. But overall, it's a very lovely name.

I don't like any forms of 'Allison' or any of the 'Allie's' but if I had to pick one, I'd pick this one.

This is what I go by, even though it's short for Allison, and I think it's ok. AND NO ONE CAN EVER SPELL IT! It's always Ali or Alli or Ally or something along those lines. Generally, if you call me Allison, I attack you. It's Allie, not Allison, or Alyson, or Alison. ALLIE!

I know three Allies, yet none of them spell it "Allie." There's Alle (short for Alessandra), Alli (short for Allison) and then Alley (who's just Alley.) I think "Allie" is over used, even as a nickname. Don't call your kids this. Think of something more original.

I like Eilla, which is Allie backwards. I only like this spelling.

That's one of the names my parents considered for me, as a full name. I wouldn't mind to be named Allie at all. I love it as short for Alexandra and Alexandria. It's common yet unusual for Alex- names.
