Honestly, I think this can work on both a boy or a girl. It's both beautiful and handsome.
I love it on a boy. I also like the Biblical associations. I would rather use a name like Moriah for a girl.
This is my name and I love it. I am a girl but if you pronounce it the Hebrew way (A-mar-e-ah) it sounds a little more masculine, I suppose. My middle name is Hope, so together my name means "Yahweh speaks hope". It's essentially the gospel message and I get to share it every time someone asks me what my name means.
Given it's similarity to Mariah, I find Amariah to be utterly feminine. Pretty name.
Sounds much more beautiful on a boy.
I am surprised to see this name listed as male. I only know of a girl with this name. To me it sounds very feminine. It is a pretty name.
I knew of one girl with this name many years ago. It is a pretty name.
