This is also pronounced Ah-nah-LEE-zah. That is how Anneliese van der Pol (Chelsea from That's So Raven on the Disney Channel) is pronounced.

There are 3 appropriate & acceptable pronunciations. Ann-uh-LEEZE-uh, Ann-uh-LEESE-uh and Ann-uh-LEESE. German in origin, from Anne and Lisa or Anne and Elisabeth.

I speak German and Anneliese and Annaliese are not pronounced the same!

Anneliese/Annelise = UHN-nay-lee-zeh
Annaliese/Annalise = UHN-nuh-lee-zeh

This is my name! I have always been taught to pronounce it "AH-nuh-LEE-zuh". I am named after a family friend, Anneliese Von Oettingen, who was a ballet dancer. :-) My nickname as a child was "Liese" (pronounced "Lisa").
