I think Avital is a really beautiful unusual name.

I like being a male Avital.
Nearly everyone has something to say about my name, and it's almost always a question or compliment. Back when I appeared female, people would call it a "pretty" name, now people say it's a "cool, strong" name - great that I got to see both sides of it!
It is AWFUL when people make Avatar jokes or demand to call me Avi, but I presume those are both litmus tests of character.
Nevertheless, there are very few of us; here in the northeast United States, even living in a Jewish town, I have never casually met another Avital.
Make more of us! LOL :)
