Camilla Faà di Bruno, also da Casale, also Camilla Faà Gonzaga (c. 1599 – 14 July 1662) was an Italian noble who was married secretly, briefly and morganatically to Ferdinando the Gonzaga Duke of Mantua and Duke of Montferrat. Repudiated by her husband she became a nun and the sixteen page memoir which she wrote in 1622 at the behest of her Mother Superior has been described as the first prose autobiography written by an Italian woman. Her story was the subject of Paolo Giacometti’s historical drama Camilla Faa da Casale, first performed at the Teatro Nuovo, Florence on 29 October 1846.
Camilla Cederna (21 January 1911 – 9 November 1997) was an Italian writer and editor. She is said to have introduced investigative journalism to the Italian news media. Her 1943 article "La moda nera" ("Black fashion") about the clothes worn by women in the Italian Fascist movement led to her being put in prison. She is perhaps best known for her 1978 book "Giovanni Leone: la carriera di un presidente" (Giovanni Leone: The Career of a President), where she accused Italian president Giovanni Leone of being involved in a Lockheed bribery scandal; Leone was forced to resign but he later successfully sued Cederna for libel.

Camilla Henemark, also known as La Camilla, is a Swedish singer, actress, political spokesperson and former fashion model. Henemark was born in Stockholm, to a Nigerian father and a Swedish mother. She started her modeling career in her teens and later had her own modeling agency. Henemark started her career in music in 1985 by joining Alexander Bard in his Barbie project as Katanga. Henemark then rejoined Army of Lovers in 1995 for their Les Greatest Hits album, in 2000 for their Le Grand Docu-Soap and in 2013 reunion album Big Battle of Egos, working with them on some of their most recent recordings until being fired and replaced by another former female member, Dominika Peczynski.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, GCVO, CSM, PC, is the second wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, who is the eldest child and heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II. Instead of using the title of Princess of Wales, she uses the title Duchess of Cornwall, which is her husband's secondary designation. In Scotland, she is known as the Duchess of Rothesay. In the event of Charles acceding to the throne, Camilla would be entitled to use the style of a queen consort; however, an official statement issued by Clarence House on the day of her marriage to Charles announced that she will be known as the Princess Consort.

I love this name because of the associations with a character in the novel "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt. Camilla McCaulay is decribed as a young woman with a face "as sweet, as grave as a Flemish angel." She has light brown hair that "blends into honey at the temples" and iron gray eyes. The narrator remarks that looking at her in the sunlight he is reminded of the passage in the (Iliad?) "about Pallas Athene and the terrible eyes shining." Sorry, my passage is from memory and not exact, but you get the idea. Love the name and the character. Highly recommend the book as well.
