This name reminds me of Zelinda, the name of "a Quadroon Slave", the main character in an opera called "The Slave" performed at Sydney's Theatre Royal on 20 October 1835 - Irish-born actress and singer Marian Maria Chester played her.
"Celinda" is a variation of the name "Selena," the goddess of the moon. The name occurs in 17th century English literature. For example, Lord Herbert of Cherbury (1583-1648) wrote a poem called "An Ode upon a Question moved, Whether Love should continue forever?" The couple discussing this question are named Melander and Celinda.
