The muse's name is pronounced CLYE-oh, with a long I sound.
It is true that the original version of the name and the muse, Kleio, is pronounced KLY-o in Greek.But the newer version Clio is pronounced KLEE-o.
I have to say that the previous OP is wrong about the pronunciation. It is indeed said "KLEE-oh", not "KLY-oh".
Italian pronunciation:KLEE-OhAn "L" after a "C" creates a hard "K." The "I" in "Li" is stressed to "EE." "O" is as usual, "Oh." [noted -ed]
