I really like this pronounced dee-AN-a, but if you're gonna pronounce DEEH-na, just use Dina.

I really like the name. I think its really pretty.

My name is Deanna. It is a feminine name and rare. It is a variant of the name Diana, which means divine. Throughout my life, people have always said my name wrong or misspelled it. I don’t know why people say it’s an ugly name, because it isn’t. I actually have known three Deanna’s, and they were all nice.
Everyone having different names is what makes life interesting.

I love this name! Reminds me of Deanna Troi from Star Trek Next Generation. Love the name.

This name is really pretty, but I don't think I could use it, sadly. I prefer "Dee-AN-uh" much more to "Dee-nuh" which I would spell Deana or Deena.

This name makes me think of a toaster. Probably because Deanna Oliver played Toaster in The Brave Little Toaster.

This is my name; I used to think it was plain, uninteresting. But as I've gotten a bit older it has grown on me. It's extremely rare where I live, no one else has it. And it has a simple elegance to it.
It's origins aren't anything special, but I don't believe the whole "bastardized feminine form of 'Dean'" at all (very rude by the way). I think it sounds much closer to "Diana"; only with a "De" instead of "Di". In fact, if you listen to the way Germans (and probably others) pronounce "Diana", it sounds a LOT like "Deanna".

My name is Deanna (DEE ANNA)and I struggled my whole life with people mispronouncing it (DE-NA, DIANA, DIANE) so I go by Dee now. I even thought about changing it legally because I don't even relate to Deanna anymore, and only notice people when they call me Dee. BUT my mom named me so she would be hurt if I did.

I hate this name. It's either a horrible bastardization of the divine name Diana, or a blatantly obvious feminization of Dean.

At first glance, I thought that Deanna was a combination of the prefix De- and the suffix -anna. Not a good first impression. Now, however, I see the name as okay. It's nothing gorgeous, but it's not particularly ugly.

I find my name mediocre. The only other Deanna's I've met haven't been awful, but they've all definitely been boring. I've always seen it as 'anna' with a 'de' prefix, not a variant of Diana. The etymology of this name reads 'chief of ten' which is very absurd and senseless to me.

Also. I hate when it's written 'DeAnna', like an Italian or Spanish last name.

I've only recently thought about this name, because I knew a girl in elementary school from Bosnia. Her name was Dejana, and she pronounced it dee-AN-uh, like this name. (By the way, to those pronouncing this "DEE-nuh"--that's how you pronounce Dina. And possibly Deana. But Deanna, with two n's, is dee-AN-uh.)

Anyway, I had always thought Dejana sounded pretty, and it has a great meaning ("to act"), but since I'm not Slavic, I wouldn't use that spelling for my daughter. I much prefer the way Deanna looks, but I don't think of it as a feminine form of Dean, but a variant of Dejana. (That may not be what it is etymologically, but it's how I think of it.)

In my experience, Deanna is not a very common name. However, all of the Deanna's (with this spelling) I know are Italian. And as it is, the names I really like right now are Deanna and Theresa. Wow, I'm more Italian than I thought. Lol.

This is a pretty name. Dee-na is both cute and sophisticated. But to a degree I have to admit it's another name that ends in "a". I think DeeAnn is a pretty name, too. But the fact that it's not an overly used name is a breath of fresh air.

While slight night shiver doesn't have to be so rude about it, I do agree with them on some level. Deanna is my name, and I've never really cared for it. I prefer to go by Anna instead.

Yawn. This seems like a lazily constructed name, and it's very common by now, so it's not original in any way. It's not particularly pretty, and it doesn't sound very classy or sophisticated either.

Deanna is a pretty name, what turns me away from this name is someone I know with this name, I seriously think something is wrong with her.
