I like the name Dominic. I think it is a moniker that has an air of elegance, class, and sophistication that other names may lack. Another interesting aspect that I like is that it truly captures a timeless demeanor which easily allows the bearer of this name to age gracefully. Overall, a wonderful name that should be given a second look by would be parents for their son.
I hate it, sounds like a dog’s name.
It is VERY HANDSOME.
Nicest name tbh, I just wanna stick to this name instead of that trashy Dominick name.
This sounds like it comes from the root word Domino. I could be wrong though.
World's sexiest name tbh, I would let anyone named Dominic drug me and throw me in a lake because they deserve the world.
Dominic is my name and it is a mature good name from a catholic song.
I had nothing but good associations with this name. I met a sweet little boy named Dominic, but he went by his nickname, Dom. It's so friendly and grows well for all ages. It's pretty sexy and attractive on a grown man too.
It's an interesting name, but I can understand where people are coming from calling this name a bit pretentious. I do have a personal experience with somebody of this name, and they were pretty chill.
This is a fine name but I like Dominik more.
I love it! Sounds handsome, sexy, and strong!
I really like this name, it's unique and cool.
One of my current favorite boy names. I love Dom as a nickname.
My name is Dominic... And I'm a girl. Many could say it is boyish or things like that, but where I'm from we speak Spanish so it doesn't sound strongly boyish at all. Some people over here think it's a girl's name, or a unisex name, but very original. At the beginning I didn't like my name, but now I do. People call me Domi, Dom or Doms.
Pretentious name for pretentious people who think they're godlike...
Sounds like dominate, which doesn't have a very good connotation in my opinion. Kind of a weird name.
My boyfriend's name is Dominic! I love that name and my man is HOTTTT.
I've literally never met a nice person named DominicI've known several.
That's the name I chose for myself!
I like it lots :] and I'm glad to see there are other people who like it too!
I like Dominic! It is simple to spell and pronounce. It is neat and out of a specific trend.
Plus it can work in different languages.
My name is Dominic. I get called "Domino's" or "Domi-dic". I usually get called "Dom" though. I think it's funny how creative people are with nicknames.
My name is Dominic, and my middle name is John, which makes my initials DJ but only one person I know calls me this (and he would stop if I asked him to, but I'm fine with it) the thing about nicknames is that different people using it may annoy you (I don't think I'd agree with anyone else calling me DJ). I also really dislike the nickname Nic, not that anyone ever really called me that (and now I have a brother named Nicholas, so he can deal with it).
Dom is such an amazing name, the guy is a legend, I just love the name.
Sounds like Dum-a-dick. I have experience with this.
I have a friend named Dominic. He is really kind. I love this name.
Hate this name. I think of Demonic, Dominatrix, and Domination when I hear this name.
Dominic is a sophisticated, classy and elegant masculine name on the Top 100 which deserves much more attention. Dominic is confident, cool, and distinguished. It is one of those names that works in any culture. The name turns people's heads, and impresses them all at once.Dominic should be embraced much more frequently by parents in the USA and Canada because of its beautiful meaning, sound, and overall appeal.Dominic gets my vote for all boys born in 2016.
My younger brother is named Dominic, and my mother opted to call him Nick instead of Dom because she thought Dom sounded too much like "dumb" and that he'd get teased. A few of his friends occasionally call him Dom, but the family still prefers Nick. Also, people tend to misspell or mispronounce his name as Dominique for some reason. Teachers, coworkers, my mother's sister who spelled it wrong for ten years... the list goes on. It happens a lot, and it's often really hard to set people straight once they've decided on the wrong name. It happens the other way around with my friend named Dominique, and it's equally as annoying to her. I don't know why so many people have had trouble with this name, but I figure people deserve a little bit of warning about it.
All of the Dominics I've met as a teacher have been naughty boys. I cringed when my sister in law considered the name for her second son. She asked me if it sounded like a naughty name. I was honest and said yes. She named him Dominic anyway...He's only 2 so we'll have to see how he is when he's older, but I still think it sounds sassy.
Dominic is one of my favorite names for a boy. I haven't met many Dominics in my life, maybe one or two, but the one who was my age spelled his name Dominick, which (to me) looks like his parents tried to be edgy. Also, going off of the comment above mine, the Dominick I knew in school was the class clown, so I think the way his name was spelled fit his personality. It's interesting that someone farther up described Dominic as a very Italian name, because the few Dominics I've known (including the aforementioned class clown) were all Italian-Americans... as am I, so if I were to use Dominic for my son it wouldn't seem out of place.
I find this "of the lord" thing hilarious because my Dominic isn't big on religion and I'm a pagan. I didn't even know this. Now I have to be helpful lest they take off my comment. So this is a good name. It has a bunch of nicknames (like my Dominic goes by Dom) so it gives the bearer a lot of wiggle room.
Actor, Mario Lopez and his wife just had a baby boy and they named him Dominic but will be called "Nico". The baby is named after his wife's Italian grandfather whom I'm asssuming was Domenico in his native country. That's probably where the Nico nickname came from.
My brother, born in 1980, is named Dominic. It wasn't a very common name when he was born and he's received a lot of compliments on it. He's usually called Dom by family and friends, but goes by Dominic at work. He went through a phase in junior high where he tried to go by Nic, but it never really caught on. His two year old son is Dominic, Jr., and he is usually called Dominic but my sons have started to call him Nicky, which I think is adorable :)
I hate this name. It sounds like an evil name; I don't care what it means. It always makes me think of the devil.
My name is Dominique and I also get called Dom as a nickname, but always hate it when I run into a mate called Dominic and everyone is calling out Dom, Dom, and I get all confused.
I'm not a fan of the nickname Dom, but I find Dominic a very handsome name. And luckily (hopefully) no girls will adopt it in the future because there's always Dominique for them. Hopefully...
Love this name. It's cute and the diminutive "Dom" is great.
I just love the name Dominic! It probably has something to do with Muse. But I just love the nickname Dom, it's sort of uncommon (I only "know" one Dominic), and it's just one of my favorite boys names.
I like how you can use either DOM or NIC/NICKY as nicknames (I personally prefer Dom).
I named my first son Dominic. I thought I would call him Nic, but Dominic suits him more. He is gifted and kind and a very strong, handsome young man. It is a great name!
I think this is a wonderful name. Most Dominics I know are very good looking!
Dominic is my cousin's name and it's very unique.
This name has really grown on me, it was the nice meaning of this name that got me to rethink this name.
I HATED this name until I read "Dark Waters" in which Dominic is an adorable, hyper little boy. That totally changed my opinion for some reason, and now it's a favorite!
Nice friend of mine, I love that name!
