Ebba may have gotten some its popularity from the TV series Ebba & Didrik. Didrik never got as trendy, but it was close to unheard of before the show. Ebba on the other hand became a real trend name.

In Sweden Ebba was originally a noble name, only used by noble families. Not so anymore, and quite trendy today.
