Typically pronounced the same way as Ella. It's a diminutive of Eleanor, and the Elea in Eleanor is pronounced like Ella, so there you have it.

Elea is my nickname (full name is Eleanor). I pronounce it the same as Ella -just taking the 'nor' off Eleanor. However the city is apparently pronounced 'EE-lee-ah'
