Oh my goodness this name is lovely. I much prefer it to Stella which while very pretty, is too common nowadays and I like the old fashioned charm of Estella more as well.
I wonder if this name is now going to have an influx due to the 2021 Cruella movie? In any regard I like it, it's tasteful and posh without being over the top sugary sweet like some modern girl names that won't be mentioned. I like it the best of the variants.
Just as wonderful, nice and great as Estelle, Stella and the other variants. This is more mature than Stella though.
So beautiful!
I love the meaning of this name (which is 'star'). I personally prefer Stella or Estrella over this name, though.
This name is lovely, but I can't help thinking of Estella Havisham in Great Expectations. She is quite the ice queen.
I think the name Estella is gorgeous! The E at the beginning makes it seem more elegant than Stella, in my opinion. I can imagine this name on both a toddler and an adult.
My daughter's name is Estella-Rose.
Essie could be a nickname for Estella. I think Estella is a very pretty name for a little girl. It's more interesting than boring Ella, and better then Stella.
I think it's very pretty, though I slightly prefer Stella and Estrella.
I love this name and Great Expectations. In my opinion Estella is a name that gives the impression of being small and delicate but there is definitely something more devious behind it.
Pretty name, but I prefer the Spanish spelling of it.. Estela with one 'L'. In Spanish the two L's together are pronounced like a Y. It's Estela, not Es-tay-uh. Therefore, I'd definitely spell it with one 'L'. The actress, Ali Landry, has a young daughter named Estela Ines born in 2007.
It's pretty, but it sounds too soft and a bit snobbish. I'd go with Stella or Estrella.
I sort of like this name, but I have to admit that it reminds me of Estella Havisham. I'm not a fan of "Great Expectations" or Dickens so that kind of kills it. Plus, the character of Estella is truly a monster--although not entirely her fault. But still, the name is associated with a cold-hearted loveless character. Hard for me to get over.
This is my aunt's name. I've always liked it. It sounds so extra terrestrial and awesome.
Anyone who has the name Estella is literally a star. It's so pretty and unique.
Really quite a nice name; much better than Estelle or Stella. :)
Estella itself is a gorgeous name, but the associations with Charles Dickens' character are really a turn-off for me. Estella Havisham was HORRID. It takes a lot for me to hate a character in a book, but I absolutely despise her!
I don't really like this name. For some reason, Estella has never appealed to me. I prefer Estelle.
Perhaps it is because I hate Dickens, or because I hate 'Great Expectations' specifically, but I can't help but dislike 'Estella'. She was a foul character.
Estella is a very beautiful name - so lyrical and intelligent. If I was to use it, it would probably be because of Estella Havisham, a character in my favourite Charles Dickens book, "Great Expectations".
Estella is a beautiful name. Stella is a great name on its own, but Estella is much prettier to write and say.
Okay, it doesn't soften the pronunciation, but the word has a nicely soft and elegant sound to it anyway, and it sounds a bit more elegant than Stella. I love the name!
This is quite a pretty name, and it sounds a tad better than Stella and Estelle. The name is not too cutesy or youthful either. The 'e' at the beginning softens the pronunciation, which is nice.
