Eurydice was the wife of Orpheus in the Greek myths.
Cleopatra Eurydike was the niece of one of King Phillip II's generals, Atallus, and one of Phillip's wives. When Phillip's other wife, Olympias, killed her children, she took her own life.
Eurydice is also the name of Creon's wife in the play Antigone. Near the end of the play, she kills herself after she hears that her son has killed himself.
