It is of Italian and Latin origin meaning youthful, Soft-Haired, downy, soft and tender. Variant of Julia. Giuliana, it's a very rare name.
Actuallay, this site is wrong. The name "Giuliana" means "daughter of Jupiter", who was Zeus, or Giove, (king of the gods) in Greek/Roman mythology. The name derives from Latin. "Giuliano" means son of Zeus (Giove) not Julius which is completely different. And the pronunciation of Giuliana is always mispronounced by Americans. The usually say "ulli ana" or guuliana" which are both completely off. In Italian, it begins with giu, which is pronounces ju. I would know all this and I am completely certain this is accurate because my name is Giuliana and I am Italian. This site should really look up the real meanings of the names.
Really, I'm almost POSITIVE it derives from 'Julius/Julia'. It may not be my name, but I daresay I've done plenty of study of names and languages and I'm fairly certain.
